Introduction:

Born in North Carolina, Suzanne Ellett has found her artistic niche in the unique beauty of this state's barrier islands.

Her love of sand, surf and art has dramatically come together in her watercolor presentations of coastal scenes from the Carolina Shore.

Suzanne received her formal training in art at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she was classically trained in charcoal, oil and pastels.

Afterwards, she instructed in ceramics and jewelery fabrication in the state community college system.

Suzanne's first master class in water media was instructed by Fran Larsen, a nationally and internationally known artist.

She has continued to study water media at Intensive Studies Seminars throughout the United Sates including Texas and New Mexico, where she had the opportunity to study with internationally recognized talent including:

Fran Larsen
Katherine Chang Lui
Alex Powers
Skip Lawrence
Christopher Schink
Carol Barnes

Specializing in transparent watercolor in her Carolina Shore scenes, Suzanne also works in oil, pastels, charcoal and pen and ink.

She incorporates such media into her art work and, in particular, architectural renditions for homeowners in the Raleigh-Durham area.

In addition to her spectacular sunrises, sunsets and other coastal views of the Carolina Shore, she is constantly at the easel capturing the unique Carolina Shore scenes that see this area and its people and buildings with eyes that love.

Suzanne Ellett’s art can currently be seen at Topsail Island, North Carolina; and, she has provided art for both private and public collections in Canada, France, Russia and throughout the United States.
